Search Giant Baidu Launches CryptoKitties Knock-off

Baidu, China’s search engine giant, has launched a new Crypto-Kitties like service as part of its wider work with blockchain. the service centers around the digital adoption and trade of puppies, which are recorded on a blockchain. The website lists various digital puppies each ranked by their scarcity. Users with Baidu accounts are able to adopt one crypto-dog and receive 1000 points for free on the marketplace, which can be further used to trade with other “owners.” The website details that the service was developed by Baidu’s in-house blockchain team, which is also a member of the Linux Foundation Hyperledger consortium.
